1. Approach the Swiss Guards on the Left side of St Peter's 10 minutes before your tour starts.

2. Walk to the Excavations Office (Ufficio Scavi), and wait for your tour guide to arrive.

3. The guide will take you through a nearby door (used as an exit for the grottoes) where you will descend a flight of stairs and enter the Necropolis.
