The Vatican’s Christmas broadcasts are part of the seasonal, worldwide telecasts of papal ceremonies, including Good Friday, Easter and other major events.

Cardinal Foley says that the international telecasts of papal ceremonies are the most popular religious telecasts in the world. “These telecasts”, he notes, “provide millions of people around the world, including many who are not Catholic, with a source of inspiration and consolation - and a reminder of the true purpose of life.”

Let us ask the Lord to grant us the grace of looking upon the crib this night with the simplicity of the shepherds, so as to receive the joy with which they returned home (cf. Lk 2:20). Let us ask him to give us the humility and the faith with which Saint Joseph looked upon the child that Mary had conceived by the Holy Spirit.
