Antonio Pollaiolo
(1431-1498) was commissioned to make the sepulchral monument by
Giuliano Della Rovere, later Pope Julius II. The latter was the
nephew of Pope Sixtus IV Della Rovere, a great humanist, who also
came from the school of poverty in the Seraphic Order of St Francis
of Assisi.
